Exciting new course for animal professionals and students wanting to develop their hands-on practical and theoretical animal training skills.

This unique course will provide you the opportunity to develop practical skills using operant conditioning principles and techniques to modify and manage behaviour. Our focus will be on the application of the least intrusive and most positive strategies.. Students will develop skills and knowledge in using training tools and procedures, developing training plans, solving problems, considering ethics, working with aggressive behaviour, considering emotions and more.

Students will to work with Birds and Squirrel Monkeys during the course, there will also be big cat training demonstrations. However this may be subject to change.

This course integrates several different teaching styles from presentations, group work and getting hands-on with animals as we truly believe that the practice brings the theory to life and makes it much more meaningful. All students will have the opportunity to  work with animals throughout the course and receive coaching.

This course will have limited places to allow Chirag and Tim to provide individual coaching to all the students.

Students will be awarded a certificate of successful completion, upon successfully completing the course.

The cost of the course is £499.

Full time student and zoo keeper rate: £399 (£299 with KONG scholarship).

The price includes e-course notes and refreshments.

Due to the very kind sponsorship of The Kong Company, we are able to offer the first 12 participants to register (full time students and zoo keepers) a £100 KONG scholarship. This money will be deducted off your registration fee. The number of KONG scholarships still available are listed next to the pre-registration ticket options above.  Students must be full time college or university students.
