Improving your practical skills in applying principles of positive reinforcement and behaviour analysis including skills working with a conditioned reinforcer and marker signal such as a clicker. This workshop is all about changing your behaviour to make the learning process clearer for your animal and human learners.
It's 3 days long and consists of lots of hands-on with short presentations and discussions in-between. In the level one workshop we focus on applying positive reinforcement, giving animals a choice, discuss husbandry training and build up skills in timing, process of reinforcement, rate of reinforcement, delivery of reinforcers, luring and how we can do it better, applying reinforcement to people around us including clients and some history or our training.
Sounds very simple but don't be fooled these are 3 intense but hopefully fun days of learning. We will be in the beautiful cots worlds so perfect for a short July get away too!
This is some of the feedback from last weeks workshop:
"I have just returned from the most FABULOUS weekend at the Practical Skills Workshop, (AKA Chicken Clickering!) Level 2 with Chirag Patel of Domesticated Manners and organised by Muriel Brasseur Oabc. My brain has been blown away with the rate of learning over the 3 days and I would THOROUGHLY recommend to ANYONE wishing to improve their hands on clicker training and/or general principles of positive training to go to a Level 1 workshop. Chirag is an amazing tutor and (from my experience) the other people attending the course are pretty awesome too!" Heather Ahearn
"Practical Skills for Dog Trainers level 2 - check!! If you want to improve your training skills while doing something really special, DO THIS! Thanks to Chirag Patel for being such a brilliant, patient and very funny teacher, to Muriel Brasseur Oabc for the best workshop organisation I've been so far (including best cakes ; ). And to the rest of you: I had such a great time!! Thanks" Sabrina Phelan Bakar "
"I decided to do Chirag Patel's Chicken Camp this year instead of Clicker Expo and I know I made the right decision. Hearing a lot of theory is one thing, watching other people apply the theory is another, but this is a unique opportunity to put the theory into practice for yourself. Bit by bit things that we learnt are still filtering into my head and I'm able to apply to dogs.Recommended 100%. Thank you Chirag." Theo Stewart
