We launched our first European Behaviour and Training Conference called WOOF! in 2013. After a highly successful event with rave reviews, over 200 delegates and the best UK and International speakers, we have decided it's time for our second conference. WOOF! 2017 promises to offer the same quality of service and education while aiming to raise the bar even higher! We want attendees leaving once again with comments like "That was the BEST conference I have ever attended!".

The Conference (Summary)

The conference will be on the 10-12th February 2017 at the East Midlands Conference Centre, located on the beautiful grounds of the University of Nottingham. We have a jammed pack 3 days of learning for you to take away and apply in your daily lives. Whats included:

The East Midlands Conference Centre is a perfect location for WOOF! 2017. Located on the beautiful grounds of the University of Nottingham and with a very nice hotel onsite (The Orchard Hotel) only a very short walk away from the conference centre. 

The conference centre and hotel offers ample parking and free wifi. 

We have negotiated excellent rates with the onsite Orchard Hotel, who are happy to offer WOOF! delegates the rates of £70.00 + VAT for bed and breakfast (single occupancy),  £80.00 + VAT for double occupancy (rooms can be purchased as twins) and you can also upgrade to executive rooms for £20.00 + VAT per night. To book rooms you must call the hotel directly quoting "'Domesticated Manners'". We highly recommend booking your rooms early to avoid disappointment of them selling out as we anticipate most of the participants and speakers will be staying here. 

Special rates are available for the night of the 10th, 11th and 12th. If you wish to stay before or after this the hotel will provide you details of the best available rates for any further nights. The hotel does require payment at the time of booking. 

There are excellent transport links by road, rail and air, the conference centre and Orchard Hotel benefit from a great central location. Only 2 miles from Nottingham city centre with access to Midland Mainline Rail Services, 4 miles from the main M1 motorway network and 10 miles from East Midlands Airport.

FAQs

  • This will be my first time attending a conference. What can I expect?

Expect lots of smiles and friendly behaviours. Our goal is to make you feel welcome and relaxed so you have a great time. We will publish a full schedule of the 3 days closer to the event, but if you book onto the full 3-days you will be able to attend any of the seminars running throughout the day. We don't separate into different rooms at WOOF! so every one gets to hear all the talks. We have breaks for refreshments and lunch where the food and drinks are included in your ticket price so no extra payments are required. We will also provide two complimentary evening presentations with dinner included so that you can spend time building your social network and relationships with other attendees, if you wish to do so.

  • Can I record the conference?

We do have a no video / audio recording policy at the conference of presentations. However we would love you to take pictures and videos or non-presentation activities and share them #WOOF!2017.

  • Will I be allowed to bring my pets?

No animals other than those taking part in the event or officially registered assistance dogs will be allowed in the conference centre or hotel. We are strongly recommending that delegates make care plans for their pets that do not involve dogs having to be left in cars during the event. The schedule is un-like many other conferences and in order to provide you with value, we have a full day and evening of presentations that you can take advantage of; So your days will be very busy. If you do choose to bring your dog(s), we ask that you place his or her welfare, safety and care first as we are sure you would do.

  • I belive in a different training philosophy, am I still able to attend?

OF COURSE you can! We all have the same goal of improving the lives of animals living under human care. We do promote a ethical and science based approach to understanding, managing and modifying behaviours so as long as you are open to being in this environment for 3 days, we would welcome you to join us.

  • Full refunds will be given minus a £30 administration fee for requests made before 31st July 2016, midnight GMT.  After this only 50% refunds will be made for requests made before 31st October 2016, midnight GMT.  No refunds will be made after this. 

  • If you are on a payment plan, then any payments are subject to the same conditions as stated above.

  • You may transfer or sell your ticket to another person. You must complete a transfer form which can be found on our website or by emailing our office: office@domesticatedmanners.com We will not accept any transfers or sales if the transfer form is not completed and submitted to us by the 10th December 2016. If you sell or transfer your ticket it is your responsibility to ensure that you have a confirmation of transfer from us by the 15th December 2016.

  • Re: the 'free ticket for a friend' competition taking place on the 2nd February 2016: You must have a valid woof ticket already purchased by the 1st of February 2016. Your free ticket will be of the same value as the ticket purchased (eg. 1-day or 3-days). If the person on the paid ticket cancels then the free ticket will become invalid. The paid ticket can be transferred to another person and the free ticket will remain valid.
